The increasing popularity of Cheri Petri's beguiling children continues to attract a growing number of collectors. Cheri's pastel paintings create a bond to one's childhood. Through them one recalls carefree days at the beach, the feeling of sand between the toes, or the soft touch of a butterflys wings

Born near Lake Michigan, she spent many summer days on it's shores, which has certainly been an influence on her work. Graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Fine Arts and majoring in Drawing and Painting, she went on to pursue her career as a professional artist.

In 1980 she married the artist Bert Petri. They both shared a passion for art and that passion would eventually lead to the establishing of "Our Gallery". The physical gallery would open in 1987 in the small village of Pentwater which hugs the shores of Lake Michigan. In 1996 they bought the old bakery and quickly renovated it into one of the most attractive galleries in Michigan. Our Gallery would feature their paintings and sculpture, pottery, jewelry of other artists. It has been a huge success."

Cheri's work has been rewarded numerous times and she has been in many shows throughout the country. Her work is in collections around the world and she has been featured in such magazines as Palm Beach Life and Metropolitan Woman.
